Mount Usher Gardens, Co Wicklow, Ireland
I first visited Mount Usher Gardens in early March this year. The trees were leafless, the grounds open as the growth had net yet begun. It was so beautiful. This 22 acre Robinsonian wild Garden is an Arboretum, with trees from all over the world, all planted here by the garden’s founder Edward Walpole. The head Gardner, Sean Heffernan told me with great pride that the garden housed over 4,500 trees and shrubs.
Coming back in May, the garden had been transformed into a tropical lushness with colour everywhere. The bees were working, the butterflies fluttering from bloom to bloom. The Azalea blossoms were increasable, all colours from orange, yellow and reds.
I feel that the pictures will get across the content of this beautiful garden better than words.
Having spent many years as a professional photographer, I have been privileged to be witness to so many wonderful happenings, meeting so many amazing people all over the world and enjoying their cultures, hospitality and experiences.
I traveled extensively into Africa, South America, Caribbean and Europe bringing clients into these regions so they too could experience the cultures and traditions of the communities, understand better the environment, the value of conservation and the caring of nature through adventure and environmental travel.
Through my photography and travel writing I convey these experiences to others so that they too can enjoy and understand the moments that travel brings with it.
